I recently watched Flags of Our Fathers (2006) and Letters from Iwo Jima (2006) and am looking forward to seeing Gran Torino (2008) which has gotten me into a Clint Eastwood kick where I'm going back and watching his old Westerns. I also watched Appaloosa (2008) and Maverick (1994) recently, putting me further into the Old West mood.
I've been wanting to get a Master Replicas Star Wars Force FX Lightsaber, though unfortunately they don't yet make the specific lightsabers I'm interested in: Obi-Wan Kenobi's from Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace and Kyle Katarn's from Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast. Between their Force FX and Scale Replicas they do carry several lightsabers from the same character but from different films which got me researching (as only a geek would) and realizing how much their lightsabers change from film to film and how they are really influence by the designs used by others such as the designs of their previous masters' lightsaber.
That is to say:
“Better to be judged by twelve than carried by six.”
Or in other words:
When contemplating the personal use of deadly force with respect to self-defense from perceived imminent, immediate, and grievous bodily harm to oneself or to others, and questioning whether justifiable homicide would be ruled; it is important to consider that it is preferable to be alive and judged on that matter by a jury of twelve of ones peers than to be dead, in a casket, and carried by six pallbearers to ones waiting grave.
Unknown source on the quotation.
"Il vaut mieux hasarder de sauver un coupable que de condamner un innocent."
"If I were to tell you the next thing I say will be true, but that the last thing I said was a lie, would you believe me?"
The Doctor [Third Regeneration (1970 – 1974) played by John Pertwee (1919 – 1996)], Episode ?, Season 9/10/11? Doctor Who (1963 – Present)
Another poem from my childhood, unknown author or origin, but found this article on it: "One Fine Day in the Middle of the Night"
A poem of sorts I remembered from my childhood. I found this article on it: Announcer's Test
One of a collection of such questions I read in one of those silly chain letters your friends send you. I don't normally reply to such emails but in the case of the friend that sent it to me, I wanted to share the information, and that question actually got me thinking.
I've moved to a new webhost and decided to try a completely new website as well.
